Wabi House

Carlsbad, CA

Completed in 2008

The Wabi House, designed by Sebastian Mariscal Studio, has an intimate relationship to the garden. The spaces were designed to create vignettes that heighten the experience of the landscape. Plants were thoughtfully selected to compliment the house and mark the seasons with groves of flowering crape myrtle trees, falling leaves, spring green grasses and soft wind swept bamboo. Every room is connected to the garden including the master bedroom facing a contemplative roof garden.
